Industrial Air and Gas Filtration

Filtration

Industrial air and gas filtration – reticulated, activated carbon coated, converted.

Filtration is not an accessory – it decides process reliability, product quality, and occupational safety. From open-cell raw materials to ready-to-install cassettes, we develop and manufacture filter elements from polyurethane foam, filter nonwovens, and filter papers for odor, particle, and pollutant removal. In series, in custom sizes, and with a machine park that combines more than twenty processing technologies under one roof.

Two Pillars of Our Filtration Solutions

Activated Carbon Filter Foam

Open-cell PUR foam, impregnated with powder or granular activated carbon. Combines adsorption and mechanical filtration in one medium – ideal for odor and VOC removal. read more …

Reticulated Filter Foams

Thermally reticulated polyurethane foams with defined pore count (10–100 ppi) – as block, rolls, or custom-cut components. read more …

Activated Carbon Filter Foam

Ideal for odor and VOC removal

Activated carbon filter foam combines two filtration mechanisms into a single, easy-to-handle material. The open-cell polyurethane foam forms the carrier structure, allowing air to flow through with minimal pressure loss while simultaneously retaining particles mechanically.

At the same time, the embedded activated carbon adsorbs gaseous pollutants, odors, and volatile organic compounds (VOC) on its extremely large internal surface area.

The result is a medium that handles particle and molecular filtration in one step – compact, lightweight, and customizable into many geometries.

Powder - Granulate

CellPAC – Powder Activated Carbon: finest activated carbon powder is uniformly anchored in the foam structure. Very homogeneous distribution, high effective surface area, thin media thickness possible, low pressure loss. Typical for odor removal, indoor air retrofitting, and light VOC loads.

CellGAC – Granular Activated Carbon: activated carbon granulate is incorporated into the foam. Higher loading amount per area, longer service life, better for high pollutant concentrations. Typical for industrial exhaust air, solvent recovery, and continuous operation.

Decision aid: Choose CellPAC when installation height, weight, and pressure loss are critical. Choose CellGAC when service life and absorption capacity are paramount.

Activated Carbon Filter Foam

Typical Applications

Odor reduction in kitchen, gastronomy, and food exhaust air

Air purification in office, laboratory, and hospital environments

VOC and solvent removal in painting and printing processes

Exhaust air pre-cleaning in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries

Cabin air filters in vehicle and mechanical engineering

Reticulated Filter Foams

Custom-cut to size

Structure

Reticulated polyurethane foams are filter media with a completely open cell structure. After foaming, the cell walls are thermally removed – leaving a three-dimensional strut structure with defined pore size. Air, gas, or liquid flow through the material with very low pressure loss; particles are retained throughout the entire volume according to the depth filter principle.

Processing Technologies

We process block and roll goods and refine them into ready-to-install components. Our machine park with over 20 processing technologies gives us the design freedom your application needs: cuts, rolls, strips, and stamped parts in tight tolerances as well as contour cutting, CNC waterjet, and oscillating knives for 3D geometries. The media can be laminated – on one or both sides with nonwoven, knitted fabric, or metal mesh –, sleeved (e.g., CellGAC as a spill-free alternative), welded, glued, framed, and converted into complete assemblies.

Typical Applications

Depending on the pore count

Pore Count Character Typical Use
10–20 ppi coarse, very open Pre-filter, droplet separator, coarse dust
30–45 ppi medium Air filter, carrier structure for activated carbon
60–100 ppi fine Fine filtration, sound absorption, flow straightener
